In recognition of the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act, BLM-Utah’s intrepid adventure crew recently set out on a unique backpacking trip into Red Mountain Wilderness in Southwestern Utah.
Supported by the Back Country Horsemen of Utah Southwest Chapter and the Snow Canyon State Park Trail Rides, the group sought to gain vital perspective and knowledge, interviewing a broad range of user groups while riding and hiking through some of the most pristine, undeveloped lands in our nation.
Documenting their journey (online) along the way, the crew also looked to familiarize public land users with Utah wilderness, garnering a sense of enlightenment with regard to the many great uses and benefits these places provide, along with the precautions and etiquette necessary for traveling in such primitive areas.
Several videos have since been produced with more still to come. We are excited to announce the release of our latest production “Riding Into Wilderness” featuring Back Country Horsemen of Utah Southwest Chapter and Snow Canyon Trail Rides.
Thanks again Back Country Horsemen of Utah Southwest Chapter, we truly appreciate the support your organizations provided in this endeavor and the incredible volunteer work performed year after year.
